Hillsdale Investment Management Inc. is expanding with an exciting opportunity to join our Institutional Investment Services Team (IIS) as a Senior Vice President, Institutional Investment Services. The successful candidate will be a vital part of Hillsdale’s continued and profitable growth plans.
The mission of the IIS team is to lead Hillsdale’s continued expansion within the Institutional market through a combination of client service excellence and focused business development. You will collaborate closely with your Institutional colleagues, the Portfolio Management, Investment Research, and Data Engineering Team, and other internal teams to enable this mission.
You will be responsible for building and managing meaningful institutional client relationships, providing exceptional client service, and branding Hillsdale’s investment strategies and services.
Specific Responsibilities
Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Vice-President IIS, your responsibilities will be to:
- Cultivate and nurture close relationships with key institutional investors.
- Collaborate with clients from a consultative perspective to position the ideal Hillsdale solution.
- Expertly articulate the value proposition and advantages of the firm’s customized investment strategies.
- Prepare persuasive presentations and written thought leadership that showcase Hillsdale’s investment capabilities.
- Deliver exceptional client service across all touchpoints surpassing client expectations.
- Play an essential role in contributing to sales collateral and in developing and implementing national sales campaigns executed by the sales team.
- Contribute effectively to the coverage of Hillsdale’s Tier 1 consultants across Canada.
- Develop and implement a strategic distribution plan for the US institutional market.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
This career opportunity requires proven sales and service capabilities to institutional investors and consultants, excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of the institutional market in Canada and the US, comfort with frequent travel, and a knack for getting things done. Your qualifications include:
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in business development and client servicing in the institutional investment industry.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Math with a CFA Charter. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the capability to provide clients with valuable insights.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to convey complex quantitative concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strategic mindset with the talent to develop and execute business development plans, identify market opportunities, and drive growth.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in building and retaining relationships with institutional clients, including a track record of expanding business with clients and prospects.
- An aptitude for dealing with people positively and enthusiastically.
- The desire to be a part of a diverse team that values collegiality and respect.
- An entrepreneurial results-driven mindset focused on achieving high levels of individual, team, and firm performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as CRMs, mainly Sugar.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
